Hi, I’m Brennon Chapman, General Manager of Homer Skelton Hyundai, former college football staffer, husband, father, and proud third-generation part of a family business built on trust.
If you’re reading this, you might be shopping for a car, looking for help with financing, or just trying to figure out who’s running the place. I wanted to share a little bit about who I am. Because to me, relationships matter more than transactions. Whether we work together today, next year, or not at all, I want you to know the heart behind how we do things here.
A Legacy That Started Before I Was Born
My roots in this business go way back. My grandfather, Homer Dee Skelton, built this dealership on a simple idea: treat people fairly, take care of your community, and do business the right way. He didn’t talk a big game, but his name meant something. People trusted him, not because of flashy ads, but because he followed through on his word.
That legacy means something to me. I didn’t just step into a job. I stepped into a responsibility. Carrying his name forward is a privilege, and it’s why I care so deeply about how this store operates and how we treat people.
From Football to the Showroom
Before taking over as General Manager, I spent nearly a decade in college football as Assistant Director of Player Personnel at Ole Miss. My job was to recruit talent, manage relationships, and help guide young men in one of the most competitive environments in sports: the SEC.
I worked under Hugh Freeze, who showed me how to outwork the competition and connect with people in meaningful ways. I also served under Matt Luke, who modeled how to lead with steadiness and heart during some of the toughest seasons our program ever faced.
One moment that sticks with me happened after the 2019 Egg Bowl. A penalty on a game-tying touchdown led to a loss and the firing of our entire staff. But instead of placing blame, I called the player involved, Elijah Moore, and told him what I believed.
“It’s not your fault. There was a lot that went into it. You doing that didn’t get everybody fired.”
That moment was later quoted by The New York Times, but to me, it wasn’t about publicity. It was about doing what was right. That’s how I lead. Protect your people. Tell the truth. And do what’s right even when it’s hard.
Leading the Dealership with Purpose
When I returned to Homer Skelton Hyundai, I brought those same values with me. I didn’t want to run a typical store. I wanted to build something better. That’s why we introduced a no-haggle pricing model and a faster, more transparent process called Express Buying. It’s built around four simple promises: Fast. Simple. Friendly. Fair.
We respect your time. We’re upfront about pricing. And we stand behind what we sell.
Inside the store, I’ve worked to rebuild the culture. We’ve restructured operations, clarified expectations, and created an environment where people are respected and held to a standard. I believe great teams are built with trust, accountability, and shared purpose.
My leadership is shaped by the people who raised me. From my dad, I learned discipline and how to stay grounded in tough moments. From my mom, I learned emotional intelligence and how to lead with with integrity. And from my grandfather, I learned humility, generosity, and the power of consistency.
At Home, I Lead the Same Way
At the end of the day, I’m not just a GM. I’m a husband to my amazing wife, Celeste, and a father to two daughters, Kinleigh and Collins. Family is everything to me. It’s why I protect my time with them and why I lead my household with the same mindset I bring to the dealership.
When I make decisions here, I think about how I’d want my own family to be treated. Whether it’s a sales experience, a service visit, or a job interview, that mindset drives every conversation.
Legacy isn’t just about money or success. It’s about how you live your life, how you treat people, and the kind of culture you leave behind.
Why This Matters to You
You have a lot of choices when it comes to where you buy or service your vehicle. I’m not here to tell you we’re perfect. But I will promise you this: we care, we work hard, and we do things the right way.
Whether you’re buying your first car, trading in your fifth, or just need someone to point you in the right direction, my team and I are here to help. No pressure. No gimmicks. Just honest people who care about doing a good job and treating you with respect.
Thanks for taking the time to get to know me. I’m proud to serve this community and even prouder to carry on my family’s name. I hope we get the chance to meet soon.
